About Omoide Tours

Our Story

I started Omoide Tours because I kept seeing the same thing: travellers spending days in Tokyo, ticking off the famous spots, and leaving without really understanding what they’d seen.

Japan has thousands of years of history, culture, and stories behind every shrine, every tree, every neighbourhood. But without someone to bring that to life, it’s easy to walk past it all and forget.

I studied Japanese and History at university, spent years learning the language, and worked at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum — and what I found was that people light up when you give them the story behind what they’re looking at. That’s what Omoide Tours is about.
